Want to go skiing? You need this gear before you go:
1. Skis
Skis are basically two long strips of material that you can stand on to gracefully (or not so gracefully if you are just starting out) slide down a snowy slope. When choosing skis, it is very important to purchase the correct size for your height so that you will have a more enjoyable experience.
2. Ski Bindings
Ski bindings are the middlemen that keep your boots attached to your skis. Bindings are an absolute must.
3. Ski Boots
Ski boots are special shoes you wear when you go skiing so that you can be attached to your skis. Ski boots are very awkward to walk in, but without them skiing would be much more difficult.
4. Ski Poles
Ski poles allow for better navigation when actually skiing and better stability while walking with your skis on.
5. Ski Goggles
Snow blindness, windburn, and snow in your eyes is not fun, so protect your eyes with some ski goggles.
6. Clothing
When you go skiing, it is best to wear a performance layer, an insulating layer, and finally a waterproof/windproof layer. Make sure you wear a hat, gloves, and long, thick socks.
Optional Accessories:
7. Ski Covers
If you choose to purchase your own skis, ski covers are a good idea because they will add some added protection to your investment when transporting or storing them.
8. Helmet
A helmet is usually not needed, but if you are going to be trying out any tricks you see on tv, you might want to use one.
9. Ski Gear Bag
A ski gear bag will add organization and peace of mind to your vacation, allowing you to worry about which slope to go down first, instead of where on earth you socks are.
